Program Meeting:
4th Wednesday, 12 noon @ Park Hills Country Club

The Pilot Club of Pratt was chartered on March 10, 1956, as an extension of the Pilot Club of Wichita.  Our first community service was helping with the Cerebral Palsy Telethon in April of 1956.  Our first fundraiser was a rummage sale that netted $126.00.  Other community services that year were a Baby Sitting Clinic, we joined the Emblem Club of Pratt, and purchased a Davis patient roller for the county hospital to move the patients from the operating table to the cart or visa versa.  Our program meeting was held on the second Monday and our business meeting on the 4th Monday of each month.  There were 26 members in our club the first year.

The hostess for our program meetings throughout the year are our Club Operation, Projects & Youth, and Fundraising Divisions.  Some of programs planned for this year include:  Engineers Appreciation Luncheon, Pilot Orientation, Brown Bag Lunch, Founders Day & Share Pilot, and then we’ll have a Fall, Winter & Spring Social that is held on the 5th Wednesday of that particular month,  along with our Christmas Dinner and one program on Community Awareness.

Our community service project this year is bringing Project Lifesaver to Pratt County.  We have partnered with the Pratt County Sheriff’s Department in building this effective life-saving system.   We placed our first unit on September 12th, 2007, after receiving a matching grant from Pilot International Foundation.  During our 50 years of service we also brought Lifeline to our community, purchased handicapped accessible playground equipment in Lemon Park, and donated the handicap accessible Pilot Express Railroad to the City of Pratt in May 2007.  We continue to manage the Pilot Express Railroad and are currently making plans for our Spook Express to be held the week end before Halloween. Our club provides many other services in the community.

On May 1, The Pilot Club of Pratt hosted a booth for Project Lifesaver at the Pratt Community Health Fair. Visitors had the opportunity to see equipment, get information on how it was used and received printed statistics. The Pratt County Sheriff's Department was represented.
