The Lawrence chapter of Pilot International serves the local community a number of ways. They have fully funded Project Lifesaver and partnered with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office to offer the program to the citizens of Douglas County. With Douglas County Fire and Medical they sponsor the annual helmet fair, providing free bicycle helmets to children. They support the Epilepsy Alliance of Douglas County, Health Care Access, Relay for Life, and the ECKAN/Just Food food pantry. The Lawrence Pilot Club raises the funds that enable them to support these organizations by holding a grand antiques sale at the fairgrounds every spring and fall.
